The NFL has been pushing to have a team in Los Angeles. The question isn't if they will get a team, but when and from where. Does the city of Los Angeles deserve a team?
The city of Los Angeles has had three professional football teams in the past:
- The Chargers were in LA for one year while they were apart of the AFL.
- The LA Rams last for over 30 years. They then moved to Anaheim before they went to St.Louis.
- The Raiders spent 12 years in LA before moving back to Oakland.
My problem with LA getting a football team is how they would acquire a team. I think if the NFL is to give the city a team it should be through an expansion to the league. I don't like the fact that a team can just pick up and move because they aren't getting a new stadium in their current location. For many years the Minnesota Vikings held that against the state of Minnesota. Now the St. Louis Rams are experiencing a similar problem. I believe the NFL should expand the league. More teams more money right? However if they expand, they have to add two teams otherwise there will be a team with a bye week 1. My proposal for other cities are Portland, San Antonio, and Omaha. Maybe Peyton would retire in Omaha. Does LA deserve a NFL team? Everyone deserves a second chance but a fourth might be asking a lot.
What do you think?
